Due to the ongoing pandemic, and closure of the Art Gallery of Windsor, we shifted the program to an online platform. We reached out to our Gallery Guides, volunteers, and local artists who were up to the challenge! They quickly adapted to the new format, creating and delivering engaging and interactive activities from their home studios.
Amanda Dupuis: Born and raised in Windsor/Essex, Amanda quickly found that art is her passion. She is a 3rd year student at the University of Windsor working toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. Her medium of choice is oil on canvas.
Alice Welsh: Alice has been working with clay since 1966 and creates wheel thrown stoneware pottery. She teaches pottery classes in the area and has been an exhibitor at Art in the Park since 1970.
Ayesha Drouillard: Ayesha Drouillard is an artist and mother living in Windsor, Ontario. Her focus is on creating mandalas and sacred circles. Her art is intuitive, playing with colours and letting her hands and heart create without much planning.
The Vanguard Youth Arts Collective: Vanguard is a group of creatively driven youth who act as a voice for an emerging generation of the arts within the Windsor Essex region. They nurture creative development by fostering connections within the community. Members include, Kristina Bradt, Samantha Enríquez, Gabriella Howes, and Stephen Drouin.
Maria Meridata: Maria Mediratta is an artist and educator residing in Windsor, Ontario while pursuing a Master’s of Fine Arts at the University of Windsor. Mediratta has a passion for printmaking, design and the environment, all of which greatly influence her artwork.
Béla Varga: Béla Varga is a Canadian born Roma artist, and a recent BFA graduate from the University of Windsor. Through Varga’s artistic practice, he hopes to share the unknown stories of the Roma people and to integrate Romani cultural artifacts and knowledge into a contemporary context.
Lynn Newman: Lynn Newman was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario. Lynn taught for 32 years specializing in Primary and Junior subjects. She is currently a docent at The AGW and has successfully conducted tours and studio activities for over 12 years.
